To celebrate International Education Day, UN Women, France and Ireland are organizing a series of dialogues on the following topic: "Evidence and experience : Adolescent Girls' Education in the Generation Equality Forum".

Organized in partnership with UNESCO, Plan International, GPE, and the Malala Fund, this event will bring together Action Coalition leaders, policy-makers, civil society representatives and youth leaders and activists from around the world to highlight the role of education as a catalyst for gender equality, but also as a cross-cutting strategy to achieve the goals of the Generation Equality Forum Action Coalitions.

The purpose of these dialogues is to provide a space for adolescent girls and young women to share with experts and professionals their challenges, needs and experiences in taking action to advance the education of adolescent girls, and gender equality more generally.

During the two webinars, scheduled for February 11 and 16, these exchanges will highlight the main challenges and actions needed to ensure that all adolescent girls have access to quality education in a protective, safe and secure environment. The discussions will highlight transformative actions that impact all adolescent girls and ensure that their rights are respected.

This event will enable the leaders of the Action Coalitions to design youth-centred action plans and commit to advancing gender equality in each of the themes of the six Action Coalitions.

Please find the program of the event here, and register for both webinars here.

Prior to the event, we also invite you to consult the joint report by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs, Plan International France and UNESCO: “Beijing+25 : Generation Equality begins with adolescent girls’ education”, which will be presented during the event, as well as these policy papers, written by the Global Education Working Group, which provides recommendations on each of the six themes of the Coalitions.
