Generation Equality Midpoint Moment

-
New York City

Mark your calendars: The Midpoint Moment for Generation Equality will take place at the Perelman Performing Arts Center (PAC NYC) in New York City and online on 17 September 2023.

The 2023 Midpoint, co-hosted by UN Women and the Government of Tanzania, will be a critical milestone for Generation Equality. It will take place both in-person and online, and is designed to engage Heads of State, VIPs, activists and advocates from every sector to re-energize the Generation Equality vision and push for the full realization of its agenda.

The event will focus around:

  • Progress and Accountability: demonstrating progress made against commitments including through stories of impact, formal reporting – including the publication of a second Accountability Report - and an analysis of gains and gaps relative to the Sustainable Development Goals.
  • "Replenishment" - Commitments Growth: soliciting and spotlighting new and expanded commitments across the areas where they are needed most.
  • Amplification and Energization: galvanizing multi-stakeholder actors and public audiences to take collective action on gender equality.

The 2023 Midpoint event was publicly announced by UN Women Executive Director, Ms. Sima Bahous, at the flagship CSW67 Generation Equality side event, “Open, Safe and Equal: Shaping a feminist digital future”. During her speech, Ms. Bahous celebrated the strong partnership of the Government of Tanzania as co-host of the Midpoint.
