Transforming Care Systems for People & Planet | High-Level Political Forum 2023 Side Event"

 

On July 13, 2023, a distinguished side event titled "Care Systems for People and Planet: A Transformative Catalyst for Gender Equality and a Sustainable, Resilient, and Inclusive Future" took place at the United Nations in New York, as part of the High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF). The event was organized by notable entities, including UN Women, the National Institute of Women of Mexico (Inmujeres), and the Global Alliance for Care, with the participation of influential figures in the field.

The panel discussion featured experts in the Care Work agenda, such as Sarah Hendriks, Deputy Executive Director a.i. for Policy, Programmes, Civil Society & Intergovernmental Support at UN Women, Ipek Ilkkaracan, Professor of Economics at Istanbul Technical University (ITU), Faculty of Management, Alicia Buenrostro, Deputy Permanent Representative of Mexico to the United Nations, Nadine Gasman, President of the National Institute of Women (Inmujeres) of Mexico, María del Carmen Squeff, Permanent Representative of Argentina to the United Nations, Paula Narváez Ojeda, Permanent Representative of Chile to the United Nations, Violet Shivutse, Chair of the Huairou Commission, and Ana M. Alonso, Counsellor, Human Rights and Gender Equality, Permanent Mission of Spain to the United Nations. This panel was moderated by Jemimah Njuki, Chief of Economic Empowerment at UN Women.
