Evidence and experience: Adolescent Girls’ Education in the Generation Equality Forum
One year after the global call to action “Drive for Five” to meet the unfulfilled promise of education for girls”, UN Women, France and Ireland co-hosted two global dialogues entitled “Evidence and experience: Adolescent Girls’ Education in the Generation Equality Forum”. The dialogues took place on February 11th and 16th in partnership with the Global Partnership for Education, Malala Fund, Plan International France and UNESCO.
Ahead of the International Day of Zero Tolerance for Female Genital Mutilation, 6 February 2021, The Co-leaders of the Generation Equality Forum Action Coalition on Gender-Based Violence reaffirm their commitment to end Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), and all forms of gender-based violence (GBV), around the world.
The report entitled "Citizens Call for a Gender-Equal World: A Roadmap for Action" by Women Deliver and Focus 2030 is the first-of-its-kind international survey spanning 17-countries across 6 continents to capture perceptions related to the six Generation Equality Action Coalitions.
Young Women Leading Tech & Innovations
The ‘Young Women Leading Tech & Innovation’ was a youth roundtable hosted by the Generation Equality Action Leaders Digital Grassroots on 27th January 2021. The 90-minute session was attended by over 190 participants from at least 30 countries from across the globe. It featured four keynote speakers who brought their perspectives to four key priority areas of the Action Coalition for Technology and Innovation:
The World Economic Forum Davos Agenda is taking place from the 25th to 29th of January and is this year embracing collective action by public and private partners for bold solutions to improve the state of the world and manage the direct consequences of the COVID-19 crisis.
UN Women launches a Youth Journey to Generation Equality
Generation Equality celebrates the 25th anniversary of the Beijing Platform for Action engaging the new generation in the fight for gender equality. Since its inception, UN Women's efforts have been focused on placing young people at the center of Generation Equality to make sure that they are in the driving seat of all galvanizing moments and processes.
